Am Altenberger See (Lake) The scale of the Grand Duke Karl August in the 19th century 3.8 acre natural lake is about 1.9 meters deep and is ideal for fishing and boating a ( boat rental on the spot). The camp stretches over an area of approximately 10 hectares around the natural lake "Altenberger Lake" in the midst of Western Thuringian Forest. It is open all year (November closing - limited supply). For caravans and campers 50 tourist parking places are available. For tents 30 places are available. In addition, 3 cabins can be rented. The term camping area includes 80 parking spaces. The campsite is recommended by the ADAC, DCC, ANWB, ACSI, Kosmoswijzer and in Europe camping and caravanning guides. The bathroom facilities consist of a wash / shower room for men and one each wash / shower room for women with 6 showers and 7 toilets each for men and women. In addition, a washer and dryer and a washing space available. Self-catering, there is a mini-market with fresh bread and everyday commodities. This is open daily in season from May to October. Our bread service is available, of course, in the low season are available. Our restaurant "Seeblick" (Sea View) is located on the Campingpark Eisenach. There are two guest rooms and a beer garden with 40 seats available. For our biker friends , we have an extra route , the route ~ 99 ~ together . This tour through the Thuringian Forest is also for the most demanding customers a special highlight - it contains but also parts of the track of the legendary Wartburg rally and the Rennsteig mountain race ( through forest with many curves and slope ) . On the connector , there is plenty to see and also many opportunities to enjoy the Thuringian bratwurst :-)
